Interior — Ceilings

Wood ceilings that finish the room.

Solid timber, acoustic slats and veneer tiles — in the species that already dress your walls and floors. Specify once; we match it across every surface.

Interior · Ceilings

A ceiling is acoustics, warmth and light.

Ceilings are the one surface a room never stops looking at. Finish yours in solid timber, slatted acoustic systems or veneer — engineered for height, humidity and the way light falls.

Wood ceilings do what gypsum cannot. They soften how a room sounds, absorb ambient humidity, dampen HVAC noise above the plenum, and extend the natural material language of the walls below. Each ceiling board shares batch, grain and finish with our wall-panelling and flooring range — so when you specify a species, the entire room reads as one.

Three formats cover every project: engineered acoustic slats for sound-sensitive spaces, solid-timber planks for traditional continuous grain, and veneer tiles for commercial T-grid refits.

Why wood overhead

Four reasons architects specify timber ceilings.

01
Acoustic control

Slat systems reach NRC up to 0.85 — hotel-grade sound absorption without compromising aesthetics.

02
Thermal mass

Natural insulator reduces HVAC load above the plenum and buffers temperature swings.

03
Real timber

100% solid wood — no PVC, no WPC, no veneer-on-foam. The surface is the material.

04
Matched batches

Ships from the same mill run as your wall and floor boards — grain, finish and tone align.

Three formats

Choose the system before the species.

The right format depends on room height, acoustic goals and the plenum behind the ceiling.

01 — Slat

Acoustic Linear Slats

Engineered slat panels on felt backing. NRC up to 0.85. Specified for hotels, restaurants, offices and auditoria.

02 — Plank

Solid Timber Planks

Full-depth solid-wood boards in tongue-and-groove or shiplap. Direct-fix to joists for traditional continuous grain.

03 — Veneer

Veneer Ceiling Tiles

Real-wood veneer on engineered substrate. Drops into T-grid systems — ideal for large commercial spans.

A specialised range

When moisture is the enemy, Thermowood answers.

For bathrooms, saunas, spa ceilings, swimming pool soffits and covered terraces. Our Thermowood range is kiln-treated at 212°C — permanently reducing moisture uptake and dimensional movement. Same grain, same look, no cupping, no warping.
