Character
White ash, hardened by heat
At 215°C the ash sugars caramelise and its cells close. Moisture pickup drops, movement drops, decay resistance jumps to EN 350 Class 1 — the highest natural-timber durability class — and the colour deepens to a warm chocolate brown through the full board thickness, not just the surface. Left uncoated outdoors, it ages gracefully to a silver-grey patina.
